The University Honors Program (UHP) invites applications from students of proven academic ability, with genuine intellectual curiosity, who seek to learn from and with others to maximize the value of their undergraduate education.

Criteria for admissions include the following:
1. A short essay that conveys your intellectual curiosity and interest in joining the University Honors Program.
2. A high school GPA (weighted or unweighted) of 3.75 or higher. Due to COVID-19 and its impact on standardized testing, we have suspended the 29+ ACT requirement for Spring 2021 and Fall 2021 admissions. Students may still submit scores at their discretion, but we will not negatively weight ACT/SAT scores or the lack thereof.
2. An overall GPA of 3.5.

For incoming students (new and transfer) the UHP has established a priority application deadline of December 1, 2022.
New college students apply to the Honors Program through the K-State application portal: https://apply.ksu.edu. You will be invited to complete a short supplemental application for the Honors Program when you begin the university application.
If you are applying to K-State through the Common App, the same supplemental UHP application will be available in that portal.
Transfer students must have a 3.5+ GPA from their prior institution to be eligible for the University Honors Program.
Transfer students apply to the Honors Program through the K-State application portal: https://apply.ksu.edu. You will be invited to complete a short supplemental application for the Honors Program when you begin the university application.
If you are applying to K-State through the Common App, the same supplemental UHP application will be available in that portal.
The UHP reviews applications from current students on a rolling basis. If you apply in your first semester at K-State, we will process your application after grades from the first semester have been posted. Applicants will be notified by letter to the address provided.
